Qubetics Decentralized VPN (dVPN) – FAQs
What is a Provider?
A Provider is the entity (or individual) that offers VPN services within the Qubetics dVPN network.
The provider registers on the blockchain using a wallet address.
They define service details such as bandwidth, pricing, subscription duration, and geographical region.
The provider does not rely on a centralized company — instead, they directly connect users with their infrastructure.
Example: In traditional VPNs, you pay a company like NordVPN. In Qubetics, you pay directly to the provider who registered their node on-chain.
What is a Node Server?
A Node Server is the actual machine (server, VPS, or local system) that runs the dVPN software and relays user traffic.
It is configured with tools like WireGuard to establish secure tunnels.
The Qubetics dVPN module ensures that traffic is encrypted, private, and decentralized.
Each node server connects to the blockchain to report usage, handle payments, and validate subscriptions.
Providers can run multiple node servers to serve users across different regions.
How is this VPN Decentralized?
Traditional VPNs are centralized, meaning:
A single company owns all servers.
They can monitor user traffic or be forced to share data.
Qubetics dVPN is decentralized because:
Multiple independent providers can join the network by running their own nodes.
No single authority owns or controls the system.
All records of providers, subscriptions, and payments are stored on the Qubetics blockchain.
Users can freely choose providers based on cost, speed, and trust.
The network is censorship-resistant: even if one provider goes offline, others remain available.
How does this Model Generate Revenue?
The Qubetics dVPN ecosystem generates revenue through the following streams:
For Providers
Providers earn TICS tokens directly from users who subscribe to their plans.
Revenue is based on the chosen plan, bandwidth provided, uptime, and the number of active subscribers.
Additionally, a small network fee is collected on each transaction, which supports the ongoing operations and maintenance of the Qubetics ecosystem.
This model ensures sustainability by creating a direct link between service quality and provider earnings, while also maintaining the overall health of the network.
Why are we using a Subscription-based Model?
The subscription-based model offers several advantages:
Predictable Revenue: Providers know how much income they can expect each month.
User Flexibility: Users can choose from different plans (daily, weekly, monthly) without long-term commitments.
Simplified Billing: Instead of pay-per-use (complex), users pay once for a defined period.
Fair Resource Allocation: Subscriptions prevent abuse, as users are limited by the duration and bandwidth of their plan.
Blockchain Transparency: Each subscription is recorded on-chain, ensuring trustless, auditable agreements between users and providers.
